SCHOLARSHIPS

The Rock Island/Milan Booster Club awards three (3) scholarships each school year to a total of six recipients.

The Harvey M. Bender Memorial Scholarship is offered to one male and one female senior each year.  The scholarship was created in Honor and Memory of associate, friend, and long-time Director, Harvey M. Bender.  His love of children, interest in athletic competition, and his dedication to all those who were priveleged to call him "friend".  One of his greatest pleasures was to watch and cheer for the "ROCKS".  He loved to see us win, but had equal concern for how the game was played and the charachter of our players.  Applicants must possess and demonstrate outstanding charachter, athletic ability, and dedication to education and scholarship.

The Duncan Reid Scholarship:  Awarded each year to a senior basketball player. 

The Guthrie Family Rocky Spirit Scholarship:  It is awarded to two students a year, one male and one female (if applications allow).  Students must have a GPA of 2.75 to 3.25 and be a faculty assistant, teacher's assistant or team manager.  A letter of recommendation is required from their supervisor.
