IN THE NEWS:  Congratulations to the Rock Island Primary Academy on making 2006 NCLB Annual Yearly Progress (AYP) in their very first year of existence. The Primary Academy, a completely re-structured school, opened its doors in 2005 with a new staff, renewed energy and a passionate belief that every student in their school can and will learn. Parental and community involvement are a big part of their success, along with a focused instructional reading program based on best practices.
